Saejin Hu is a Korean-American artist raised in San Jose, California. His interest in the arts emerged from a deep appreciation for storytelling through comics, animation, and other forms of visual media. Pursuing a professional career in the arts, Saejin earned a BFA in Illustration from Parsons School of Design at The New School and currently resides in New York City. Through his ongoing practice, Saejin seeks to explore narrative, emotional depth, and human experience through figurative depictions rendered in oil paint.

"Informed by the techniques of Baroque oil painting, my practice engages with the complexity of identity and the nuances of human emotions. Rooted in my own encounters with uncertainty and fragmented self-understanding, my work seeks to investigate the tension between inner emotional states and outward appearance, ultimately capturing the ambiguity and enduring mystery of human identity."
